Roadworthy Certificate (RWC)
Eurostar Diesels is a licensed Roadworthy Certificate (RWC) tester for Mercedes Diesel Vans, Cars and SUVs.
A Roadworthy Certificate (RWC) is a check of the safety features of your vehicle.
In Victoria, a RWC is required when buying, selling or transferring ownership of your Mercedes Vito, Sprinter, Car or SUV.Â
What is a Roadworthy Certificate (RWC)?
A RWC is a check of your van to ensure that key safety components are functioning correctly. The RWC will focus on the following areas:
- Tyres and Wheels
- Brakes, Suspension and Steering
- Seats and Seat Belts
- Lights and Lenses
- Windscreen, Wipers and Washers
- Structural Integrity of the Vehicle
Please note that a Roadworthy Inspection or Certificate does not give information or assurance about the maintenance condition or reliability of your Sprinter or Vito. We always recommend having a Service or Pre-Purchase Inspection done in addition to a roadworthy if you are purchasing the vehicle. That way, you will minimise the possibility of hidden surprises.
The Certificate of Roadworthiness process is as follows:
- The vehicle is dropped off Eurostar Diesels and the details of the owner or presenter are recorded
- An inspection of the vehicle is made according to Vic Roads procedures
- If the vehicle is a motorhome, a VASS engineering certificate, Electrical and Gas compliance certificates may be required
- A report is prepared noting any deficiencies if present
- Seven days is the maximum allowed to repair any deficiencies
- The vehicle is then re-inspected
- Photographs are taken and uploaded to the VicRoads online system
- A live brake test is completed whilst driving using an accelerometer
- Upon passing, a RWC is issued. They are valid for 30 days
