Mercedes-Benz designed the Service B as the major service on their vehicles.
It occurs every second service, alternating with the A Service.
What is the difference between the Mercedes A Service and B Service?
Service A is the minor service and includes engine oil and filter replacement, a vehicle inspection and resetting the service indicator.
Service B is the more comprehensive service. In addition to the oil service and inspection, it includes additional items such as cabin filters, brake fluid flushing, fuel filters (on diesel engines) and other maintenance depending on the model and service schedule.
Your Mercedes will alternate between A Service and B Service throughout its maintenance life.

How often is B Servicing Required?
Mercedes Cars and SUVs typically need to be serviced once per 12 months, or every 10,000km to 25,000km depending on model.
The Mercedes Vito and Sprinter vans need to be serviced at intervals of between 20,000km and 40,000km depending on model.
The B Service is done every second time, alternating with the A Service.
